The Ohope Scenic Reserve includes one of the country's largest remaining coastal pohutukawa forests and has outstanding scenic and conservation values. The Reserve is home too many native birds including kiwi, tui, bellbirds and fantails.

Ohope Beach West End

The West End in Ohope is a hidden treasure, one that many visitors to Ohope Beach miss, after all there is 11km of beach to explore. This part of the beach is popular with swimmers and surfers, there are also rocks to explore.

Otarawairere Bay

Otarawairere is part of the Kohi Point Walkway included in the larger network of walks included in the Nga Tapuwae o Toi Walkways. It can only be accessed by foot and is one of the most enjoyed family recreation activities in Ohope.

Port Ohope Wharf

The Ohope Beach Wharf  or Port Ohope Wharf is a popular fishing spot for all ages. The Wharf is also home to the Port Ohope Yacht Club. The Wharf provides access to the Ohiwa Harbour which is a popular location for recreational water activities including fishing, swimming, stand up paddle boarding.

Tauwhare Pa

Tauwhare Pa Scenic Reserve is one of the area's oldest Pa sites. Located next to Ohiwa Harbour at Ohope Beach, Whakatane this is a must see Maori culture and history attraction.

Whakaari White Island
